New Directions

In my life some things just never seem to go as planned. I think one thing is going to happen and then I am thrown a twist or a loop that messes everything up. The characters in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, by William Shakespeare, encounter the same situation I have faced many times. Hermia and Lysander plan to run away together and live happily ever after.  Both characters think everything will go smoothly, but then they are thrown a twist and Lysander falls in love with another woman because of a silly love potion.
Events like this take place in our society all the time except it does not happen because of magic or a silly love potion, but because people are crazy and make the wrong decisions sometimes. Most of the time people in relationships think everything will run perfectly until that first fight comes. A Midsummer Night’s Dream reminded me how difficult love and life can be. Facing life itself and growing up can be very scary because I know at some point that twist is coming and it may feel as if the whole world is upside down. I have learned the best thing to do is hold on tight, face everything with no fear, and everything will turn out like it is suppose to be. Everything happens for a reason.

  1. Many times I have experienced things that never go as planned. Everything can be planned so perfectly and there is always something that messes it up. I do agree that the decisions some people make can cause everything to go amiss. Life is as difficult as the person makes it out to be. When things go amiss in my life I often turn to God and he always helps me through. Sometimes it's good for things to go unplanned because something important is usually learned.
