I do not think I have ever seen characters singing and killing people at the same time during a movie in my whole life! The fact that Sweeney Todd by is a dark comedy is shocking because I do not see anything funny about this movie. The murder scenes have tons of blood, gruesome sounds, and terrifying clips because of the character’s reactions. It is creepy because Todd is so proud of his skills in manipulating and sending people to their death. I jump and have to cover my eyes during every scary part. The fact that Mrs. Lovett is okay with feeding human beings to other human beings creeps me out the most.
The explanation of Mrs. Lovett and Todd’s plan to seek revenge is brilliant. The singing and dancing about the menu items that their restaurant will sell catches my attention really quick. The singing really adds to the irony of the scene and lightens the topic. Since the characters are talking about grinding people up and feeding them to other people, then there has to be something to lighten up the mood. Overall I think the movie is fantastic, but this scene alone freaks me out and causes me to never watch this movie again.
I dont think that i have ever seen the combination of singing and killing before either, but it was a good mix. And i thought it was funny when you see all the body parts in the bakery.
ReplyDeleteThe singing, I think gave the movie more excitement! It was wonderful hearing them sing about the food that they were going to grind up and make in to pies. I thought that was very very freaky! Though it was, it was exciting too. Having singing and killing and wonderful actors, it's just a amazing combination! Who ever that of this movie is brilliant!
