Thanksgiving is my second favorite holiday because I get to spend time with my family. I have a big family and most of them live here, but some of them live hours away. I don't get to see those family members except for three times a year because they work and can't visit often. I love spending as much time with them as I can, and they are always so much fun to be around.
My family goes up to my grandmother's house for lunch every year on Thanksgiving. The house is packed full of people with kids screaming and running around the house. My grandmother makes turkey, ham, and roast. Everyone else brings side dishes and we have a feast! The whole family sits down and eats until we are stuffed. After lunch we all hand around and visit with each other. It is amazing to catch up on what is happening and makes my Thanksgiving special.
Late in the afternoon everyone starts packing up their stuff to go back home. It is always hard for me to say goodbye to everyone since I don't get to see them as often as I would like. My brother and sister still live in Hickory so that makes it a little easier, but I still wish I could see my aunts, uncles, and cousins more. The best part about Thanksgiving is knowing Christmas is right around the corner and I will see them again in a month!
That sounds great, we also have a big family dinner with tons of family members together, there are a lot of my little cousins running around the house. Most of my family lives close too. We have a great time also.
